For more than 60 years, Ruah Community Services has been supporting disadvantaged people across Western Australia.


Every year Ruah helps more than 8,000 vulnerable and disadvantaged people in the Perth metropolitan area, Mid-West and Great Southern regions escape trauma and life crisis.


Operating more than 20 different programs that combine to provide wrap-around support for clients, Ruah’s service delivery is integrated across its four core support areas:

Family services
Every day, Ruah helps women and children experiencing family and domestic violence by providing
accommodation, case management, safety planning, risk assessment, court support, education and advocacy services to help manage and resolve the impact and experience of violence and abuse.


Our family services include, Belmont Safeguarding Families, Safe at Home, Coordinated Response Service
and Ruah operates two refuges to support women and their children who are escaping family and domestic violence (FDV) these include Harmony Place & Kambarang Place.

Mental health and wellness
Ruah delivers a comprehensive range of integrated services and wrap-around support for people experiencing severe and persistent mental health challenges. Trauma-informed, person-centred support helps build resilience, independence and empowers people to take steps towards living happier, healthier and connected lives.

Our mental health and wellness services include Early Psychosis Youth Centre (EPYCentre) Choices, Inspire at Fiona Stanley Hospital, Stronger Ground, Safe Haven and SuitsMe (NDIS Support).

EPYCentre
The EPYCentre is a specialist functional recovery service for young people aged 12-25 years who have
experienced a first episode of psychosis. Ruah staff walk alongside clients assisting them to develop a personal recovery plan that incorporates life goals, education, employment, recreation and fitness, and to manage stress and build social connections.

Housing and homelessness
For more than 60 years, Ruah has been providing compassion and practical help to vulnerable and disadvantaged people on the streets, in our centres and refuges, and in their homes. Our housing and homelessness services include, After Hours Support Service (Mya Goryat Boorloo), Safe Night Space, Wongee Mia, Zero Project and Mobile Outreach Ruah Centre.

The Ruah Centre, located in the Perth CBD, has supported rough sleepers and people experiencing
homelessness with over 16,420 visits per year. The centre provides a safe place to rest and refresh, access to specialist support services and assistance to transition into permanent accommodation.

Safe Night Space
The Safe Night Space for women is operated in conjunction with the City of Perth. With more than 4,425
registered attendances each year, it provides a place for women who can access basic facilities, seek support and connect to other services in a safe and secure environment between 7pm and 7am every night. The team also offers referral pathways to long-term, sustainable accommodation.
