If you’re looking for somewhere different to take the kids, or a place to spend a fun filled day with the family, check out Cockburn Ice Arena in Bibra Lake.

Cockburn Ice Arena is a twin rink facility, containing a general ice skating rink and an ice sports rink, which is used for ice hockey games and sports training. The arena also houses Cabin 401 Bar & Grill, a licensed Canadian themed restaurant overlooking the ice sports rink. Most evenings you can enjoy a meal (the authentic Poutine is highly recommended) and watch a live ice hockey game!

The ice skating rink has over 15 ice skating sessions each week during the school term, and even more sessions are added for the school holidays. If you’ve never skated before, Arena staff are available to help out on the ice on weekends and school holidays.

Kangaroo and seal skating aids are available to hire for the little ones during the day sessions. These are designed for children to sit on while being pushed from behind, and are super fun!

A DJ runs games and takes music requests on weekend and school holiday sessions, and the arena will often run a ‘Learn to Skate’ demonstration at the beginning of a session during the school holidays. These demonstrations will teach basic skating tips, like how to glide, how to stop, and how to get up safely if you fall down.

Make sure you visit Cockburn Ice Arena and check out one of their many ice skating sessions!
